Dear parishioners,
My warm greetings to each of you during these uncertain times. I hope everyone is staying safe. Seminarian Chad Franklin is a seminarian of our diocese who will going in for diaconate ordination soon. Part of the requirement for diaconate ordination is to make profession of faith and Oath of fidelity. We are privileged to have him stay at Christ the King rectory.
I invite you to keep him in your prayer as he takes the Profession of Faith and Oath of Fidelity this Sunday 26th April, 2020 at the 10:15 am mass that is live streaming.
Hello everyone,
My name is Chad Franklin. I am a seminarian studying at St. Peters in London for the Diocese of Sault Ste. Marie.

I wanted to give you a little background on my years here. I graduated from philosophy and currently taking theology. To provide you with an idea of my typical day, I will wake up before the sun to get myself ready for Mass, which includes my morning prayers. After Mass, we have breakfast and then go to class. Classes range from two-three hours long. For every hour of class, I have double that in readings. After class, we have lunch and then will work independently on reading or writing essays. Throughout the week, there will be formation events we will attend, such as director talks, spiritual direction, personal prayer, RCIA, silent retreats, Bishop Visits, or Holy Hour, etc. With all that work, I need to get out for some swimming, watch a movie or eat out with some good friends for some rest and relaxation.
I have been in formation for nearly five years, and I am currently moving into my fifth year, taking six classes a week. During these Covid-19 uncertainties, our Bishop has me staying at Christ the King in Sudbury, and my time is spent praying, reading theology books, watching TV and assisting in whatever is needed.
Please keep me in your prayers. I have one more year of formation. This summer, God willing, I’ll be ordained a transitional deacon on Aug 14/20 at the Pro-Cathedral.
God bless,
Chad Franklin
